Sky: From €161.9m to €334m – how the value of Milan’s stars has grown

By Oliver Fisher -

As the AC Milan project continues to grow along with its young core of players, the market values of the players within the squad is growing too.

Sky have published a report which documents the uncertainty surrounding Mike Maignan’s future and the crossroads that is arriving because of his difficult renewal, his dip in form and the numerous absences due to injury.

However, Maignan is one of those who has grown the most because the broadcaster claims that he has gone from being a €16.4m signing to being worth €40m in today’s market. Selling him could yield a large capital gain, but that applies to others too.

Malick Thiaw has gone from an €8.8m signing to a €30m defender, Theo Hernandez cost €22.8m and is now valued at €60m, Yacine Adli was signed for €8.7m and would now cost €15m, while Ismael Bennacer is now a €35m player having arrived for €17.2m.

Moving down the list, Rafael Leao is now worth €90m having cost €49.5m (when considering the transfer fee plus the fine money paid to Lille), Christian Pulisic is a €32m player having cost €20m, while Luka Jovic could fetch around €7m having joined on a free transfer last summer.

    1. True, in fact this year the valuation of some players (Leao, Maignan, Theo) might have gone down a bit…

Even RLC and Pulisic were discussed since summer 2022 as targets to be bought .

That said, I’d like to think that for RLC and Pulisic there was common agreement between Maldini, Moncada and Pioli on them being the right targets.

Sometimes I wonder if we had kept Tonali and with the 50million we bought Pulisic, RLC and Sportiello + 15 mill for another player whether the team would be worse (if Tonali wasn’t disqualified). Yes, we’d still have Messias, Saelemakers and Krunic and maybe CDK and Origi and Ballo Toure… I still hope Rebic would have been given away since his last year was atrocious.

      1. Tonali very addicted to gamble. News from Fabrizio Romano just 1 hour ago : Tonali banned increase 2 month due to breaching, he bet on newcastle . ACM lucky sell him before his price falling down

        1. Fake news. He’s not betting anymore.

“La FA ha accusato il centrocampista di 50 violazioni della Regola E8 della FA per aver scommesso su partite di calcio tra il 12 agosto 2023 e il 12 ottobre 2023, e lui ha ammesso le accuse.”

          1. You can check on fabrizio romano official twitter & facebook. I believe Romano very accurate news above other journalist. The second journalist i believe accurate too is pietro mazzara

  1. Tonali’s did receive a 2 month ban from the English FA. However, that sentence is suspended. He is eligible to play 8/27/24.
    Forza Milan
